RECALIBRATING TO A BALANCED RELATIONSHIP WITH FOOD
Our bodies are wild by nature. There is no way to “tame” a body, or a spirit. This is why wellness is a lifelong lifestyle and not a one-time cure-all. Often our bodies become so wild (or tamed), that they start to become imbalanced— this is something that is avoidable and can be healed. That’s good news. Often when pathogens or bad microbes start to infect us, the body can have a more difficult time on this healing journey.
This is what it means to be a human being. We often become so disconnected with the fact that we are an expanded consciousness in an animal body. This, of course, is also our advantage: intelligence.
The great news is that in modern times, we have adapted to be able to systematically treat diseases and illnesses.
Unfortunately, what we have forgotten is our “humanness.” For most of humanity, we have been healing and communing with nature. As we are a part of this ecosystem, we can not “think ourselves out” of being a human on planet earth— we must adapt and use the resources available to us.
Thankfully, we have modern medicine and the earth to help us on this journey and help us heal.
By coming back to nature, we reunite ourselves back into the natural balance.
What you have learned in this program is that you are a living body in living earth and that you also host living beings inside of you as well.
Look at climate change, and compare this to your body. You need a balanced body to thrive and not just survive.
How does food affect the mind, body, and spirit? Food is a way to gain energy and the very food you consume acts like data to your cells, influencing you either positively or negatively. Think of the food you consume as pure energy. What then would you want to consume? Our energy supply (food) holds so much for you. Reestablishing our relationship with food and self is crucial for healing. The food we consume influences our minds and emotions, especially considering the direct effects a modern diet has on the gut. An unhealthy gut leads to a lack of emotional wellness and can trigger anxiety and depression. The foods we consume affect our minds. When we heal our minds and bodies, we open up a doorway to spiritual expansion, awareness, and fluid consciousness. Food is the pathway for healing and expansion.
NOURISHING YOUR GUT FOR LONG TERM WELLNESS
At this point in the game, you have come to realize that healing takes more than food, a healthy mindset, and education.
I call this module your plant path because healing is much more than a mind to body cleansing, it is a spiritual up-leveling.
When we are faced with physical and mental challenges, the road to healing chronic illness gives us an opportunity to overcome our resistance, our fears, and our bad habits.
As we overcome this we also are stepping into our power.
Ram Dass once said, “I love my pain.” In his eyes, his pain was a doorway to love.
We cannot eat our way to a healthy body, just as we cannot think our way to a healthy body WITHOUT reinventing ourselves.
This journey may be met with resistance. This resistance includes all our biggest blocks: maybe it’s a craving, a caffeine addiction, a frayed and disdain for our body; maybe it’s an addition to the pain, suffering, or MAYBE it’s a belief that this is all we are worthy of.
You know this now.
You can identify your blocks with ease and take power to them.
Let your pain be your superpower. You hold your key to your unique ecosystem.
What does this mean for our gut health?
It means that we must maintain balance. We must discover through trial and error what balance looks like to us. We must maintain diversity, in what we eat, where we go, and how we approach our healing holistically and on a daily basis. The gut is a wild place. There must be room for disruption, but there’s also room to grow. Grow healthy bacteria, develop healthy habits that stick with us for a lifetime, and find what works for us and what doesn’t. That’s true balance. I believe in your ability to integrate back, follow your intuition, and to find what works best for you as you have on this Candida journey thus far.
